credits must be at Level 2. All learners must achieve the Mandatory units in Group A (11 credits). Learners NOT WORKING WITH FOOD: Learners must attain a minimum of 26 additional credits by selecting units from the optional Groups B and/or C. Learners WORKING WITH FOOD: Learners must complete at least one unit from Group A2. The total qualification time for this qualification is 130 hours and of this 87 are recommended as guided learning hours.

Retail and Commercial Enterprise: Warehousing and Distribution

Level 2 Award in Employee Rights and Responsibilities in the Logistics Industry (RQF)

Who is this qualification for? This qualification is aimed at individuals undertaking an apprenticeship in the logistics sector, including the intermediate level apprenticeships in warehousing and storage, and driving goods vehicles, as offered by Highfield, and should be used by those undertaking SASE/W apprenticeships in logistics.

How long will it take? To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 32 hours of learning.

These include employees’ rights and responsibilities in the logistics industry, the role of the logistics organisation in employment rights and responsibilities, the use of information in relation to employment, sources of information in relation to employment rights and responsibilities, employment rights and responsibilities in the workplace and public concerns about the logistics sector.

Level 2 Certificate in Driving Goods Vehicles (RQF)

Who is this qualification for? This qualification is aimed at individuals who are working as motorcycle/pedal cycle couriers, drivers of vans, rigid vehicles or articulated/draw bar vehicles. It forms both the competence and knowledge components of the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Driving Goods Vehicles.

How long will it take? The total qualification time (TQT) for this qualification is 290 hours and of this 153 hours are recommended as guided learning (GL).

Who is this qualification for? This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to pursue a career in the cleaning industry and provides learners with the opportunity to develop and practise the skills required for employment within the cleaning sector.

It sits within the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Cleaning and Environmental Support Services and aims to provide learners with the underpinning knowledge in generic and specialist cleaning areas

How long will it take? To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake a total qualification time (TQT) of 130 hours, and of this 110 hours is recommended as guided learning (GL).

Topics covered These may include dealing with routine and non-routine waste, health and safety for the cleaning and support services industry, working with customers and others in the cleaning and support services industry, cleaning of interiors and washrooms, mechanical street cleaning, working safely at heights in the cleaning and support services industry and cleaning with water fed pole systems depending upon unit choice.
