Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 90 hours and of this 54 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF)

Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed to provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 120 hours and of this 48 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Topics covered
These include the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training, ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training, inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training and ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment.

Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by the completion of a portfolio of evidence.

Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (RQF)

Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment without any requirement to practice as assessors.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 30 hours and of this 24 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

These include understanding the principles and practices of assessment.

Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF)

Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment other than assessing competence in a work environment.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 150 hours and of this 84 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

These include understanding the principles and practices of assessment, assessing occupational competence and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.

Level 3 is ideal if you are working in training and development and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. You work with minimum supervision and have a good record of ensuring work meets the required standard.

These qualifications are for people working in, or looking to enter roles in learning and development. They have been developed to replace the Learning and Development NVQs.

This qualifications are available to anyone working in accredited learning, non-accredited learning (where people may train and assess skills but do not assess for a qualification) and qualifications on the National Qualification Framework (NQF).

Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice:

The purpose of this qualification is to confirm competence in an occupational role to the standards required. It is intended for those who maintain and improve the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre

Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

Important information
The Highfield Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification is a knowledge based qualification and therefore Centres who have the necessary experience of external quality assurance within an Awarding Organisation setting may request approval to deliver this qualification.

The Highfield Level 4 Award in the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) and the Highfield Level 4 Certificate in Leading the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) assess practical competence of External Quality Assurance, therefore both of these qualifications are only available to learners who work as External Quality Assurance staff with Highfield Qualifications.

Highfield Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)
This qualification is intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of External Quality Assurance without any requirement to practice.

How long will it take?: 60 TQT of which 45 hour is GLH.

Depending on the qualification, topics include: Understanding the principles and practices of externally assuring the quality of assessment; Externally assure the quality of assessment and Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility.

Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

The total qualification time for this qualification is 60 hours and of this 45 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF)

Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. It requires observation and assessment of practice and the range of optional units available provide opportunities to contextualise the qualification for different learning environments.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 360 hours and of this 140 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

These include understanding roles and responsibilities, planning to meet the needs of learners, delivering, assessing learners and using resources for education and training, as well as an extensive range of optional units.

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is intended for those who lead a team of internal quality assurance staff.

How long will it take?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 170 hours and of this 115 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Topics covered
These include the context and principles and planning of internal quality assurance, maintenance and improvement of the quality of assessment, managing information, legal and good practice, work planning, monitoring progress and quality of work and providing feedback.

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.

Level 4 Award in Learning and Development (RQF) Qualification Purpose

Level 4 is ideal if you are working at a senior or managerial level in learning and development and have a great deal of professional experience.

These qualifications develop learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills as required to work in learning and development. The award provides an introduction which is extended and consolidated in the certificate. The qualifications provide an opportunity for learners’ competence to be confirmed.

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

The qualification is suitable for learners of 18 years of age and above.

Total Qualification Time
This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification i.e. to achieve all learning outcomes.

Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given, for a qualification is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning.

Level 3 NVQ certificate in advice and guidance

Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Advice and Guidance (RQF) provides learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to work in advice and guidance. The mandatory units cover communicating with clients, legislation and procedures, supporting clients to use the advice and guidance service and reviewing their own contribution to the service. There is also a range of optional units which allow the learner to develop their skills in a range of areas chosen to suit their personal development and the needs of their job role.

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of Level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.

Total Qualification Time
This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification i.e. to achieve all learning outcomes.

Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given, for a qualification is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning.

Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 210 hours.

Guided Learning Hours
These hours are made up of all real time contact time, guidance or supervision of a learner by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer or other appropriate provider of education or training.

GLH for this qualification is 132.

Level 4 NVQ diploma in advice and guidance

Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance provides learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to work in advice and guidance. The mandatory units cover interacting with clients, legislation and procedures, operating within networks, managing their personal case load and evaluate and developing their own contribution to the service. There is also a range of optional units which allow the learner to develop their skills in a range of areas chosen to suit their personal development and the needs of their job role.

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of Level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and be able to work at level 3 or above

The qualification is suitable for learners of 18 years of age and above.

Total Qualification Time
